This is Why

In yesterday's post I shared the story of my first blog, iamstilltheprincess.  Soon after I began it someone asked me, "What made you decide to be a blogger?" I didn't know.  I was bored?  I liked to write and finishing a whole novel is a lot more work than I could handle on two hours of sleep? Now I know that God had a why, even if I didn't. This time I've put a little more thought into my why.  I think it boils down to these things- 1.  It's for me. It's both therapeutic and important to pause and analyze. To recognize what God's doing in our lives and decide how we're going to respond. So, even if I have 0 readers, taking a few moments a week to stop and reflect is completely worth it. 2.  To leave bread crumbs.  I don't know what's ahead exactly.  I am definitely not an expert on being a mommy in ministry.  But someday I'll have left landmarks for some other woman who is a week from starting ordination classes, wondering ho...

This is My Story

Once upon a time I had a blog.  I named it iamstilltheprincess. You can still find it here  http://iamstilltheprincess.blogspot.com/2010/11/alright.html . I was a stay-at-home mom of two little boys with a love for reading and writing, and in need of a creative outlet. The title, "I am still the princess", referred to the fact that I was the only girl in a house of boys and also the knowledge that no matter what happened I would always be God's princess.  My plan was to theme posts around books I read to myself and the boys. Nothing prepared me for the multitude of directions it would ultimately take. Somewhere in the midst of that first year, blogging about our favorite library-trip finds, we discovered that our baby, Moses, had a multitude of life-threatening food allergies.  Peanuts, tree-nuts, egg, dairy, soy, wheat, PEAS, kiwi, strawberries and seeds.
